Returning to Substack

Closing a loop, beginning a new one

When I left Substack in 2023, it was because I was trying to do something on here that wasn’t well suited to the platform. Ultimately, that “something” morphed into a project that I have spent over two years developing, an alternative system for relating to music on the internet, and I’m coming back here in order to communicate it to whoever might listen and resonate.

The next post will be an introduction to that project. I wanted to send this note out to existing subscribers in case you want to opt out of what is coming, since it’s different from what I was doing here three years ago. If you are a deep listener, if music is a primary way that you make sense of things, you may want to stay tuned.

All of the posts to come will be free, no paywall. However I will re-enable paid subscriptions for those who want to support the work. If you were subscribed before, it’s possible this will reactivate your subscription. I will refund you if you find this has been done when it wasn’t your intention to continue supporting, just let me know.
